A registered cabling provider must complete a Certificate of Compliance or a “Telecommunications cabling advice” form after each cabling job. (Except for certain exemptions)

Cablers must retain a copy of this Certificate for at least 12 months and pass a copy to the customer and/or employer.

This Certificate of Compliance must include the technicians:

  • Full name
  • Contact details
  • Name of registrar that they are registered & licensed with
  • Registration number

The technician’s employer details, such as:

  • The company name
  • Address
  • Contact phone number

The description of the work carried out, for example:

  • Test premises for phone line faults
  • Locate and repair damage to phone line
  • Install new phone line to office for new connection
  • Fit off wall plate for phone and fax
  • Check that all points are working

Customer Details, for example:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Contact details

Certification

  • Declaration by the technician that all the work carried out complies with the wiring rules (AS/ACIF S009:2006 or its replacement)
  • This declaration must also include the technician’s name, both printed and signed with the date

As required by cabling regulations, Phoneworks will provide a “Certificate of Compliance” on all work carried out by our technicians. This is a professionally presented document that clearly states all of the above information.
