Many telecommunications providers refer to MDF connections as A to B jumpering.

An A to B jumper is a connection made between the carrier’s side of the Main Distribution Frame (A Side) and the customer’s internal cabling (B Side) to activate a telephone or internet service.

For NBN FTTB services, an NBN technician typically connects your service on the A Side of the MDF. A licensed telecommunications technician must then identify the correct pair and complete the A to B jumper to connect your apartment or office.
